CAPTCHA added to Steam Trading as part of confirmation process

4.7
Valve has added CAPTCHA as part of a confirmation process to Steam trading.

The company said it hopes the addition helps combat malware on users’ machines making trades on their behalf.

“We’re updating trading to include a CAPTCHA as part of confirmation process,” said the service’s John Cook. “We know it’s a bit of a hassle, and we don’t like making trading harder for users, but we do expect it to significantly help customers who are tricked into downloading and running malware from losing their items.”

A few existing third-party trading services have been excluded from the test which checks if you are human, otherwise these would no longer function.

The only issue with the update so far, other than some users being unable to trade, is that current trade offers seem to have been reset.

Others report that the CAPTCHA test is crashing the client. Others report no issues with the trade update.

Hopefully these issues will be quickly ironed out.

I'm not quite sure how a CAPTCHA could crash the whole client, but... This needs to be fixed lol
