FCC approves Net Neutrality rules
The new rules are designed to make sure that the Internet remains free of blocking, throttling and paid prioritization. In laymen terms, keep the Internet free of paid prioritization from those with large checkbooks and removes barriers of use for consumers for legal purposes.
There is a bit of irony in this vote because back in 2010, the FCC tried to pass rules to keep the Internet neutral. But, Verizon sued the FCC and said that they could not do this, and won. Because Verizon won, the FCC went back to the courts, and learned that if they reclassified broadband under Title II, they could then enforce net neutrality rules.
That's exactly what the FCC did here and reclassified broadband with a heavy-handed approach with the reclassification that gives the organization much more control over broadband regulation than it would have had based on the 2010 rules. Because of this, Verizon is actually losing more control of its networks after it fought the less restrictive rules back in 2010.
It is fully expected that this ruling will be challenged in court by Verizon and others, so the battle is far from being over.

For everyone who still doesn't understand here's an example.
Comcast : Hey everyone who watches Netflix you now need to buy the "NetFlix Streaming Package" or you will experience SLOW speeds.
Everyone : WHY? Why do we have to pay for speeds on a certain website?
Comcast : Because we own the Internet.
That's what would've happened IF THE FCC DID NOT APPROVE OF THE CHANGE.
Do you all love the FCC now?

Did you even understand the post lol... this has nothing to do with monopolization of any area nor does it even address that at all. are you stupid?

Woah, calm down. "keep the Internet free of paid prioritization from those with large checkbooks and removes barriers of use for consumers for legal purposes" I honestly believe that since ISPs are being far more regulated now than ever. Wouldn't it make sense to stop making people pay too much for sub par speeds? Maybe in the future, Congress can pass a bill to help consumers being monopolized. Because they can use Net Neutrality in order to leverage their bill. But that's all in my opinion. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Net Neutrality must stay approved. There needs to be equal opportunity for those with money and those who do not.

Trust me, I see it all of the time on the news section. They're doing it for the badge. I do understand it however, but it doesn't effect me too much seeing as I'm not in the US. But this is a good thing, I've thought for years that the internet should be free for anybody to use, nobody should be able to restricts us regardless, let alone when we're paying for it!
You say there doing for the badge but then I see your posting on every post so then it seems as if your going for the badge so stop being a hypocrite. I am going for the badge yes and if you weren't then we wouldn't see you bitching on every post about how people just go for the badge.
