Time Warner Cable's TV app comes to Xbox One

4.7
Good news: the TWC TV app is available for the cable company's customers (at least until/unless Comcast swallows it up) to watch TV on their Xbox One. Bad news: For now at least, it's limited to video on-demand only and not live TV -- weird, since it's there for the Xbox 360 version -- so it's not quite ready for you to ditch the cable box entirely. There is of course, always the option of using the HDMI passthrough, but it'd be nice to see full features, and according to Multichannel News Time Warner Cable is working on that. It does support stuff like Kinect voice controls and Snap multitasking, and promises both free and paid options among its content, so if you have the cable company's service plus one of Microsoft's current gen consoles

The way the app works, it allows you to watch tv thru the app without actually having a cable box on that particular tv. Its purpose was primarily for tablets and pcs used to watch tv when you are in rooms that dont have a cable box or say your kids are monopolizing the tv and you wanted to watch something else.

DeluxeHazard Is it me or aren't there already multiple TV apps on the Xbox One?

Isn't there like 10 now? I don't see the point in all of them.

I think this app will be good but I think they should of properly finished it before releasing it since it doesn't do everything yet but hopefully there won't be to many bugs.

I'm not sure how this app is helpful. I can perform all these functions with the Xbox One app on either my phone or Surface. Maybe if you don't have the cable box set up as a pass through its helpful.

Aye this seems pretty nice.

Seems like a good idea, but I wonder if there will be a lot of bugs, since Time Warner doesn't really have happy customers.
