Halo 5: Guardians release date and new trailers released

Halo 5 is coming in October. Are you ready?

Halo 5: Guardians has been slapped with a release date of October 27.

Microsoft and 343 Industries also released a new trailer to mark the news; check it out below.

“The Master Chief. Spartan Locke. Who is the hunter and who is the hunted?” Microsoft said in a press release.

According to the platform holder, the new trailer sets up “up one of the most epic showdowns in entertainment history – pitting the legendary Master Chief against the UNSC’s top manhunter in Spartan Locke.”

“The first spot, titled All Hail, highlights Spartan Locke drawing down on the compromised Master Chief, questioning his legacy and motives,” Microsoft said.

“The second, The Cost, shows the Master Chief with the upper hand over an injured Spartan Locke, delivering a powerful manifesto about the true price of being a hero.

“Which version is true? Who is the hunter and who is the hunted?”



“We wanted Halo 5: Guardians to be the game that pays off the epic promise of the Halo universe in scope and scale and drama,” said 343 boss Bonnie Ross.

“We want to amaze players with the sheer size of the worlds and battles they’ll experience, even as they question everything they thought they knew about its heroes, marvels and mysteries. #HunttheTruth is only the beginning and we can’t wait to debut the game to Xbox fans around the world at E3 this June.”

Not a big fan then of live-actions trailers, viral marketing, and #hashtags? I gotta agree on that. Nothing wrong with trying to build hype, but I'd rather have the games speak for themselves, luckily June is not THAT far away anymore.

I hope they don't ruin this series. Halo 4 was already really downhill from what Bungie wanted.

Its going to be amazing except we know Chief won't die because they'd never kill him off.

I will 100% get this, I have been playing Halo 4 for the past few days and I absolutely love it! Can't believe I didn't start playing it earlier especially as I used to play Halo 3 and Halo Reach all the time :(

Maybe the both cut trailers are in the game it may also be like GTA 5 last mission Franklin goes kill Michael or Trevor?

Very nice videos. Hopefully they tease us some more during E3 this year. Would love to see some more short clips.

I am loving the direction Halo 5 has taken. Both of these videos are fantastic and so is the audio clip that was also released with it. In one video, I don't want Chief to die. In the other, I don't want Chief to kill the guy (which Chief sounds like a changed man.) Very interesting stuff.

Horizex 343 has completely ruined halo defiantly not getting this game an to anyone that disagrees do you remember halo 4? The campaign was a joke and rushed the boss battle at the end was laughable the multiplayer was nearing the same play style as call of duty if try the halo 5 beta it's not even halo anymore they are aiming it towards all those 12 yr old kids that couldn't play the skilled based shooter halo used to be now it's all noob friendly **** 343


I agree with Halo 4 being a bad game, but I disagree with everything else, I honestly think 5 is gonna be the best halo :p
