EA’s new Need for Speed is a “full reboot”

Yesterday EA teased a new release for their stalwart race series Need for Speed. Today, we got the first trailer and details. Guesswork pointed towards a revival of the Underground games, and whilst that has yet to be confirmed, the new game will feature “authentic urban car culture”. Sounds a bit Underground-y

The new Need for Speed game is in development at Ghost Games, who made the previous NFS game Rivals. It’s described as a “full reboot” with “deep customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative.”


“Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”

The game will be built upon the same version of the Frostbite engine being used for Star Wars Battlefront.

The game looks good so far, it better stay that way. I really don't want another shitty NFS, they've been so bad recently. I've been waiting years for a really good NFS again.

Not even the older NFS? I could understand not getting into the newer ones but the older ones are all time classics..


Seriously! Hot Pursuit 3 is a CLASSIC.


as someone who dislikes arcade racers, most wanted is my favorite racing game of all time. Not the new shitty version but the old one. The underground series were good as well.


Have to agree with that but I have a bad feeling about this, it doesn't look right.


It's not that it doesn't look right, it's that the series is kind of dead and a reboot wont help it.
