The next iPhone and iOS 9 will support Force Touch

4.6
With the introduction of the Apple Watch, Apple not only introduced a new product but also new technology within its own product portfolio. The "Digital Crown" and "Force Touch" sensor are two features that have created a simpler way of navigating a device. With the release of Apple's latest Macbook featuring Force Touch, it's very clear that Apple intends to bring Force Touch to other devices.

The folks over at 9to5Mac have confirmed through their sources that the upcoming iPhone and iOS 9 will have support for Force Touch. Furthermore, Apple has designed iOS 9 with Force Touch in mind and will also be working with developers to integrate the feature into their applications.

According to 9to5Mac's sources:

Force Touch will be integrated into Maps to drop new pins, into media players for pressure-sensitive scrolling, into the Calendar for adding new events, and across the system for quickly looking up word definitions, according to sources who have used Force Touch on prototype versions of the “iPhone 6S.”

Wonder what else they'll bring with iOS 9, probably won't get it on 4s which sucks.

Force touch is a great addition, but they'll be needing MUCH more than just that to make me switch back.

Still a little confused on what force touch is. I hope they add more features than just this for iOS9

I have never heard of this force touch ;-;

It's pretty crazy how they can measure things this small, I can see many games being able to use this feature really well!

this seems really, really pointless and gimmicky, like the note 4's s-pen
