Like a terrorist in Modern Warfare, you may believe Infinity Ward to have been rather gruesomely shot down by their recent tangle with publisher Activision, but this isn’t so according to fellow Call of Duty developer, Treyarch.

Mark Lamia, head of the studio that are currently developing Call of Duty: Black Ops, was eager to talk up his colleagues to Develop. He was asked if the recent events at Infinity Ward had left added pressure on Treyarch’s work, to which he replied, “Infinity Ward still exists, there’s a lot of talented people who remain at Infinity Ward, despite co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella leaving the outfit along with around thirty-five (mainly senior) staff. There’s a team there and, clearly, they’ve undergone some changes.”

He was also quick to insist that their relationship with Activision hasn’t been affected, “As far as I’m concerned, [the responsibility to make quality] this was our mindset before anything happened [at Infinity Ward]. It’s literally not something we talk about. We’ve been making this game in the last year and a half. The events that have transpired in the last couple of months were unfortunate, but they don’t have much of a bearing.”

So it’s still full steam ahead on Black Ops, with a relationship seemingly as strong as ever for that other CoD developer.
