Confirmed: Fallout 4 will run at 1080p and 30fps on PS4, Xbox One, PC Unlimited

Fallout 4 will run at 1080p and 30 frames-per-second on everything, it has been revealed.

Fallout 4 director Todd Howard confirmed the news to Digital Spy at this year's E3 gaming expo.

"It is 1080p on everything," he said, before confirming that it would run at 30fps and not 60fps.

Fallout 4, which is set in post-apocalyptic Boston, is the first new entry in the role-playing series since 2010's New Vegas.

Players will be able to build structures and defences within the game world, while mod support has been confirmed for PC, followed by Xbox One.

Update 2: After the comments by Pete Hines we removed this from our homepage but today Bethesda has confirmed that it's indeed true.
Update: Bethesda confirmed that the PC version of the game will be uncapped, and that 1080p/30fps only applies to the console versions.

PC will run at whatever you can run it at.


We haven't had that confirmed yet, and there have been past games where forcing 60fps on a PC absolutely destroys the physics engine so without an announcement we can't say anything.

Despite the fact that he said "everything", I would imagine this would only be a PlayStation 4/Xbox One limitation.

If not, there will almost definitely be a mod created soon after release to remove the FPS cap on the PC platform. Kind of stupid to limit it on PC anyway considering there is much wider range of hardware available that can offer decent, high frame rates.
