Black Ops 3 will not support cross-platform play between PC Windows 10

4.6
PCDev has confirmed on Twitter that they do not have plans to support cross-platform play between Windows 10 on PC and the Xbox One platform for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Windows 10 is set to launch on July 29th and one of the features it includes is the ability to have cross platform play with Xbox One if developers support; one of the first titles to announce support is Fable Legends, but it seems that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not be supporting this new feature.

Treyarch has already confirmed beforehand that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be compatible with Windows 10 OS, but it seems all of it’s functionality will be limited to Steam, rather than the Xbox app on Windows 10. Another big feature of Windows 10 is cross buy between PC and Xbox One titles, but as of now, there’s no indication from Activision or Treyarch if that will be supported for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

234jazzy2 They are probably too lazy to patch BO3 on PC, which requires a lot more work.

The game is developed on PC, then ported to the XBone, It's how development now works with the W10 ecosystem and desktop-comparable hardware.

Somewhat true, the games are built on PC but the foundation of the coding is built for XBone. It can't be complied for PC, a very large variation of hardware. As for the "W10 ecosystem," the W10 will come with xbox marketplace for, essentially a Xbox one emulator but the patch/updates will be really different because there are alot more "ground" to cover for PC, games are easier to hack on PC.

Are you a child with GCSE computer science or something? The coding is near-identical aprt from some of the xbone sdk for dvr etc, they all use dx9/11 and now you have typical cpu/gpu setups, it's even easier to develop on PC.

Windows 10 ecosystem was more directed toward the dx12 usage. There is absolutely 0 emulation running on the PC for the XBone (how on earth would you emulate a xbone on anything other than the highest-end hardware - they're not that efficient).

Your facts are poor, and you are completely misleading people. Games are NOT easier to hack on PC, if anything they're harder to. Hacking singleplayer games doesn't count either, and as anyone with a PC should know - you don't really get hackers on any game worth playing online. All XBox modding is done originally on a PC anyone, it's simply code uploaded to the xbox with hardware controlling the execution of custom code.

Not really a big thing, still would'v been cool though i will admit

Homeland This would be stupid because the PC players will be using keyboard/mouse and would destroy the console players using controllers.

Hm, I have to disagree with you at that point.
Controllers are easier and faster to use in my opinion, and PC could also use customized controllers for PC?

This is not needed , it would be cool do

-it- This would of been cool, I don't play PC, I would not play PC as you could mod it easy.

It's actually harder to get away with cheating online on PC because of VAC protected servers.
