Borderlands movie in the works at Lionsgate

4.7
Lionsgate is developing a movie based on the Borderlands franchise from Gearbox Software.

The film is being developed with Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad who worked on Iron Man, Spider Man, The Amazing Spider Man, X-Men, Ghost Rider and Blade.

Lionsgate said since the games “don’t pull any punches”, the company wants to create a film “with the same in-your-face attitude,” according to the press release.

A filming date or theatrical release window was not provided.

I have high hopes for this and Assassins Creed. Even though most video game to film adaptations have been horrible for the past couple of years.

JoyfulMods A Borderlands film sounds like the best movie ever :)

Does it though?

There has been promise of a halo movie for years, and everything that was released was underwhelming. Nothing lived up to the live action halo 3 trailers. Movies based on games tend to be bad for the viewers and the company making it.

Never lives up to expectations.

Please no. I cannot think of a single movie based off of a video game that was actually good.

eh, i don't see this becoming an enjoyable movie. i liked the games, but i wouldn't think the storyline in the games would make a great movie. the only movie i've seen that parallels video games was the resident evil series, but im not even into movies at all though
