Garry’s Mod sequel in the works with VR support

Facepunch Studios are developing a sequel to Garry’s Mod, according to Garry Newman.

Speaking in an interview with PCgamesN, Newman said the project is in the “early days,” and the team is ” looking at having more VR stuff in it.”

He also said it won’t be called Garry’s Mod 2, so there’s that as well.

Newman didn’t divulge any further details on the sequel, but you should give the entire interview a go. Newman talks about the development of Garry’s Mod, its popularity, and how pleased he was that people actually bought it. It’s a rather good read.

I don't see how games like this should get a sequel, just an upgraded engine, but nevertheless VR in this game will be sweet

It is probably going to be on the Source 2 engine and not require any games to play. I'm excited to see more.

I'm curious how they can make a sequel to a game like GMOD without just having the exact same thing. I'll be surprised if there's any new features that wouldn't have just made more sense as a patch to the current mod.

It's crazy how many people still play GMOD even though it's a pretty old game.
This is mainly down to the modding community.
Watching Garry messing around in his VR room on his Twitter is pretty funny.

I never really played this game, I seen a couple of my buddies play this and they love the game, I might have to get my hands on this game and see how it is. I am just not a fan of PC games because of my hardware with the lag.
