Microsoft explains how Xbox 360 DLC works on Xbox One

4.4
If you own DLC for any of your Xbox 360 games, it will still work on Xbox One. If you don’t, you won’t be able to buy it from the new console.

Microsoft confirmed before that all the DLC you bought for your Xbox 360 games will carry over to Xbox One, if the game is backwards compatible.

In cases where you don’t yet own DLC for a game, you won’t be able to buy it through the Xbox One console. A Microsoft representative confirmed to GameInformer that you can only buy said DLC from an Xbox 360 or through Xbox.com.

“Right now, Backward Compatibility does not emulate the Xbox 360 store and new Xbox 360 games can be purchased on your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com,” the representative said.

If you want to navigate to the DLC you already own on Xbox One, you’ll find it under the ‘Ready to Install’ section for each game. You can get there by clicking ‘Manage Game’.

Xbox One’s backwards compatibility officially launches today, 12 hours after the new dashboard becomes available.

Nationalism Okay, so. I have all the DLCs for every Call of Duty game since Call of Duty 4, excluding Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, because well, they sucked.

However, I bought them on a old account, which I no longer use, or have access to. I am still able to use them on my Xbox 360 because I have them downloaded there.

Does this mean that my Xbox One will not recognized any DLCs because my current account didnt purchase them? Or will it somehow recognize that my account is connected to an Xbox 360, where the DLC has previously been bought.

With Black Ops going to BC, I would really like to be able to play some of the old DLC Zombies maps, i.e Shangri-La, Call of the Dead, and the original WaW DLC maps, because they were included in a DLC package on Black Ops.

I dont believe that the original black ops will be backwards compatible lol.

They have already announced that it will be.

So if I want DLC's for games that Xbox is importing to the Xbox one I better buy them while I am on the 360 or I will not have them? Will they ever let me buy the old games DLC for the xbox one? If not then I might make a new account, mod the hell out of every game and buy DLC's.

JTHM It's crazy how BS half of these comments are just to reach MVC. Lmao

But I guess it's pretty good. I'm mostly hyped to play BO1 Zombies :)

Half of the people don't even read the articles then say some shit that is completely irrelevant
