Halo 5 Developer Taking Action Against Cheaters

4.6
The developer of Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries, is taking action against players who are exploiting the game to rack up their REQ and XP points as noted in a blog post on Halo Waypoint. It is also stated that offending players have been identified and there will be necessary bans and punishments in place to reprimand them. Here’s what the post says:

“we’ve been keeping a very close eye on req point and xp boosting, and the exploits some players are using to idle in matches in an attempt to fill their very own money bin with a ton of req points and xp. Our data team at the studio has not only caught this behavior, but we’ve also started taking action against offending accounts, including bans and removal of all req points.”

Also mentioned in the blog are some changes implemented into the ever-popular SWAT mode. The respawn timer has been increased from one second to three seconds. According to 343 Industries, the change was implemented to “improve overall game flow while still maintaining the fast-paced action the playlist is known for.” Another addition to the SWAT mode is the removal of friendly fire. For most people it is good news as you can no longer kill a teammate by accident who suddenly shows up in front of you. You can also avoid being trolled by teammates now.

Nice to see them taking action I've seen so many high ranks lately was wondering how people got to the 40's real quick. Friendly fire being removed is another plus. :) thanks 343.

The removal of friendly fire is a great idea. I know how annoying it can get after being killed over and over again by my own teammates

I didn't realize this was a thing, haven't played much since Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 came out.

Good, glad I didn't abuse it
