Nintendo NX New Leak Suggests The Console Will Have 4K Streaming

4.6
This new one comes to us from Nintendo Life’s Liam Roberts on Twitter, who had a user send him a screencap from a survey sent out by the tracking firm GFK. This survey has prematurely leaked some details on the upcoming, enigmatic Nintendo NX system, it seems.

The leak seems to mention that the console will be capable of 4K video streaming, and that the Nintendo Network will be a major part of the system, allowing for gameplay sharing, as well as Achievements and community interactions. The games will apparently have some kind of connectivity between the console variant of the system, as well as the handheld variant, and will be 900p/60FPS.

That last point is particularly bizarre, because rendering resolutions are never listed on spec sheets- not only that, but a console never caps the resolution that it can output at unless there is a hard, hardware level cap on it. What with even the Wii U being capable of outputting at 1080p, it’s a little incredulous that the NX would suddenly decide to knock itself down to 900p.

Not only that, but apparently the contents of the box the system comes in seem to be listed in this document for some reason- and while they mention a censor bar, and a controller, it seems as though the system does not come with a power cord.

Craig 4k streaking can be done from HTPC's now with the right outputs. This is not new or impressive. Seems like they are trying to find things to help their marketing.

Considering it's going to be the only console that can do 4k streaming then yes it is impressive. Take your head out of your elitist PC ass

I mean technically the consoles out now could support 4K video output, not games, but they could probably stream Netflix or Amazon Prime video in 4K if Microsoft and Sony added support.

Kind of thing you don't know if its going to be good or not.

LieutenantGaz This console is what makes or breaks Nintendo. They need to do this smart but I have a feeling that they wont.

Exactly , if nintendo make a good console that people actually like , nintendo will be back up there with the top games consoles.

Nintendo are the best entrepreneurs to gaming consoles. Whatever they do just gets copied by Sony and Microsoft. I won't be surprised when I see 4K streaming on the Xbox one and on the PS4 after this.

Im guessing this is decent 4K streaming, I dont think i will be getting it though ill have to see.
