You'd have to be a moron to assume that you need a $1000 PC to run anything at 4k. You can easily get a 970 overclock it and use an i7 and easily run games at 4k.

I never said you needed a $1000 PC to run 4k, I just found it funny how you said that nobody would buy a $750 console when people on PC build $1000 rigs and nobody says anything about that. It's not like gaming at 4k is cheap either, not only would you need a rig capable of running 4K@30 FPS(lol), but you'd need a 4k panel as well. Having a high-end PC to output @ 4k + a panel that supports such a high resolution is easily $1000+.

You're insinuating that you need a $1000 rig to run games at 4k resolution when you clearly don't. Also a $1000 PC will easily outperform anything Sony is making. So spending that much money is 100% worth it if you want the best graphics, resolution, framerate.

PlayStation are stepping up their game! really looking forward to this when it comes out, hopefully its not to expensive though.

Wait.. you know the difference between a console and PC? A PC can literally do anything. A console is made to play games. Considering tons of people can't afford an Xbox One/PS4 when they're only $300, I am sure literally nobody would buy a console that's worth almost three times as much plus a 4K monitor. Not to mention, they can't even run 1080@60FPS how are they going to even run 4K@30FPS?

Of course I know the difference between a PC and console, I own both and have built my share of PCs. I'm well aware a PC can do things a console can't, not sure how that applies to what I was saying. I understand lots of people can't afford an Xbone/PS4, but that wasn't my point. All I'm getting at is it's ridiculous to say people won't pay $750 for a console when people build $1000+ PCs all the time. Not only that, but the PS3 was $599 on release for the 60GB variant. Throw in a couple games and some membership and you're pretty close to that $750 mark. I KNOW people are willing to pay those kind of prices for a console, because at the end of the day people will pay for the things that they enjoy. Just because a console can't run photoshop or a word processor doesn't mean people won't buy it, even if it's expensive.

As for whether or not they can run 4k@30FPS, that's up to Sony to figure out. A console running games at that resolution wouldn't be any different than a PC doing the same. As long as the hardware is powerful enough they'll hit that mark.

i can easily build a pc for cheaper than 1k and get 4k with it

Yeah, but it wouldnt run it well. Anything below $800 couldnt really run 4k WELL.

Outputting 4k below $800 is completely plausible my 770 can push 4k just fine in most games.

This would be pretty cool but I'm still going to stick with PC.
