Xbox One Sales Up Year Over Year, Even As Revenue Falls

Microsoft have confirmed that Xbox One sales are actually up year over year, contrary to predictions of sales of the troubled console slowing down- this is in spite of Microsoft’s admission that revenue from Xbox is down year on year. Microsoft explained that the contradiction was explained by lower Xbox 360 sales this year than last year, as well as Xbox One sales at lower price points.

That’s not all, either- it just seems to have been good news for Xbox all around. According to Microsoft, Xbox Live grew 26% year-over-year compared to Q3 FY2015. The company said the increase was “driven by the growth of Xbox One and Windows 10,” which validates their decision to pursue a cross platform synergetic strategy across Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Microsoft also confirmed that for now, Xbox One sales continue to outpace Xbox 360 sales in both “reach and engagement.” Although at this point, I find myself asking just why they won’t share the numbers already.

Oh well. They’re doing well, and in the end, that’s what matters.

Xbox are doing great right now, the one thing they do need to fix however is their constant xbox live issues they've been having over the past few months, it's getting to be a bit of a ball ache for it's players.

I think xbox is doing just fine. Keep making things better and better and sales can only go up.

This doesn't shock me one bit, with how Phil Spencer has changed the Xbox One to be better for the consumer. Lower price points, more features to make the system that much more better, and as stated in the article, cross-platforming.
