Microsoft adds five more titles to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Nearly each week, the Xbox One library of Xbox 360 (and beyond) classics available to play has been expanding through backwards compatibility, with five more titles having been added to the console’s stable of classics today.

Xbox’s Larry Hryb (aka “Major Nelson”) has announced five more titles that are now available to play through Xbox One’s backwards compatibility, with (nearly) all of the titles bearing a vintage spin with the addition of Dig Dug, Phantasy Star II, Runner 2, Samurai Showdown II, and Sonic & Knuckles now available.

Each of the five titles can now be downloaded and added to users’ libraries on Xbox One through backwards compatibility if they previously owned any of the titles digitally on Xbox 360, or can be purchased through the Xbox Games Store.

Im waiting for GTA IV on backwards, i miss the battles at the airport trying to get the first helicopter as it spawns and going up the jumps in the hidden sultan!

Daniel- I can't wait until I see Mw2, Bo2 or Bo1 on the Backwards Compatible list, Even though I don't like Bo1 or Bo2 it would still be sick to have them back and an extra two games to play and bring back some old memories.


We're never going to get a COD in backwards compatibility. Infinity Ward/Activision/Treyarch wont make any money from backwards compatibility and people will stop Playing BO3, therefore they lose out on Supply drops. :(

For those of you that are not aware, Halo: Reach on the xbox 1 xbox 360 emulator runs so slow and laggy around 9-20fps rendering multiplayer unplayable as well as campaign and firefight although less competitive. How about we fix that and add games that people actually want to play instead of just getting numbers for marketing reasons. "The xbox one has hundreds of titles from the 360 library to choose from..."

EDIT: as someone below stated, yes, please add Black Ops 1.

I want to know if they're still going to make BO1 backwards compatible. It seems like they're delaying so much with it. Same with RDR, it was leaked that it was going to back backwards compatible but they kinda just tried to sweep it under the rug.

Probably not gonna happen as they wont even discuss whats going on. Now that activi$ion has announced "remastered" cod 4, They will most certainly hold off on giving microsoft permission pending the sales of cod 4. After that remaster black ops 1 lol.
