3DS Emulator ‘Citra 3DS’ Adds High Level Emulation Audio Support

4.6
Citra is an upcoming Nintendo 3DS emulator that will allow users to play their legally backed up copies of Nintendo 3DS games on their PC, offering high resolution support among other features. This emulators is currently work-in-progress and gets updated frequently by the development team. The latest update to Citra 3DS has finally added the long requested audio support at a basic level. Citra developer has shared a new video revealing the audio implementation for their emulator. As explained in the video, the implementation isn’t perfect and will require more updates until it is working for every game. Nevertheless, this is an impressive progress update considering the fact that the emulator started its development just a few months ago and has come off a long way since then.

Citra 3DS emulator can now run some basic games as well some of the more demanding ones at normal speed but there can be occasional slowdowns or texture glitches along with the audio, that is currently being worked on. It should be interesting to see the progress of this emulator considering Nintendo 3DS has a great library of games and the choice to play them on higher resolution on PC should please those who have a PC capable of running them.

I definitely would not say Nintendo's time has passed. Of any console, I'd take Nintendo, if anything. Nintendo aren't going anywhere any time soon.
