Problem

When the Xbox One Kinect sensor does its initial scan, the sensor interprets a piece of furniture, a lamp, or another prominent object in its field of view as a player. The preview window will display the object with a gamertag name next to it, instead of a person with the gamertag.

Solution

If your Kinect sensor does select an inanimate object as a player, you may want to move the object out of the sensors field of view (if thats practical) or recalibrate the Kinect sensor.

To calibrate the sensor:

1. Go to the Home screen by pressing the Xbox button or saying, Go home.
2. Press the Menu button and select Settings or say, Xbox, go to settings.
3. From the Console settings column, select Kinect.
4. Select I moved my Kinect sensor or Im having trouble with Kinect.
5. Complete the Kinect sensor setup steps.

Sometimes if I lay down and play the Kinect will recognize my leg as a player and it gets pretty annoying. Next time it does this I will definitely have to put this tutorial to work.
