The primary purpose of creating a family on Xbox One is to make it easier to manage parental controls and online safety for children.

All adults in the family can remove other family members; however, adults and children have different rights when it comes to managing the family.

You can remove a member from your Xbox One family by following the steps described on this page. Note that once an adult has been removed from a family, itll require the assistance of another family member to add them back.

Note You must be online and signed in to Xbox Live in order to remove a member from your family.

Remove a family member

1. Press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Settings.

2. Look to the right, under Family, and select the profile of the family member you want to remove.

3. Select Remove from family.

4. Select Remove from family again.

5. When you return to Settings, youll no longer see that persons profile under Family.
