Problem

You try but cant add anyone new to an Xbox One family.

Solutions

Solution 1: You can only be part of one family at a time. Check to see if the person you want to add is already a member of another Xbox One family. If that person is already part of another family, he or she should take the following steps:

1. Sign in with the appropriate account on the console.
2. Go to Settings and scroll to Family. If there are other accounts listed there, the person is already part of another family.
3. Have an adult in the other family remove the person from that family.
4. Try again to add the person to your family. For more information on how to do this, see Add a new member to your Xbox One family.

Solution 2: If youre a child or a teen, find an adult family member to add the new person for you. Children and teens cant add or remove family members.

Solution 3: Make sure youre signed in to the console. You must be signed in to be able to make changes to your family.
