Family relationships set up in Xbox 360 will carry forward to Xbox One, including those that you established using your Xbox Live Gold Family Pack subscription.

So what does this mean for you?

It means that if you previously set up two parents and a child as part of the same Xbox Live family account, those people will automatically be part of your Xbox Live Family on Xbox One.

Who can manage parental controls on Xbox One?

With Xbox Live Gold Family Pack, only one adult in the family could manage who was in the family and what parental controls were in place for the children. On Xbox One, any adult in the family can make decisions about online safety and privacy for any child account that is included in the family account. Because of this, you should only add adults to your Xbox Live family if you are comfortable with that adult having administrative rights over your childrens accounts.

For example, if you added Uncle Bob to your Xbox Live Gold Family Pack but dont want him to be able to manage your childs online safety or privacy settings on Xbox One, you should remove him from the family account. To do this, follow the steps in the next section.

How do I remove a family member from my Family account?

1. Navigate to Settings.
2. On the right side of the screen, under Family, select the profile of the family member you want to remove.
3. Select Remove from family.
4. On the next screen, select Remove from family again to confirm.
5. When you return to Settings, youll no longer see that profile under Family.

The account you removed is no longer part of your family account. However, that account can still take advantage of your Xbox Gold membership whenever they are signed in to your console if you have chosen to share your Xbox Gold membership.
