Play games on multiple consoles
If you have more than one Xbox One console, or if you play Xbox One games on friends consoles, youll find it handy to store your saved games in the cloud (on the Xbox Live servers). You can then continue playing a game on a different console, right from where you last left off.
This page answers common questions and describes how to troubleshoot problems with saving to the cloud.
Do I have to be an Xbox Live Gold member to use cloud storage?
No, all Xbox Live members can synchronize their saved games to the cloud.
How do I sync my saved games to the cloud?
Your saved games are automatically stored in the cloud while youre connected to Xbox Live. You dont have to select cloud storage. If you sign in to a different Xbox One console, your saves will be recovered and accessible from that console as soon as you sign in with your Xbox Live-enabled profile.
How do I delete saves I no longer need?
You can delete and otherwise manage your saved games from within the game itself. Start the game and use its menu system to delete the save. The process and options for managing your data vary from game to game.
Error: We cant save additional info for
This error occurs when your console runs out of space for saved games while synchronizing with the cloud. You should free up space by deleting saves you no longer need. Or, you can ignore the error and continue to play without the option to save.
Message: Which one do you want to use?
You get this message when your console has newer or different locally saved data than whats saved in the cloud, usually after you play offline. Youll be given the choice of which saved data to use, the locally saved or cloud saved version (and youll be notified which is newer). Pick the save you want to use and continue.
Error: Your other Xbox is taking a long time to sync to the cloud.
This error occurs when youre playing on one Xbox One console after having played on a different Xbox One console that has not finished synchronizing your saves to the cloud. You have two options:
Select Sync last saved data to stop the other consoles upload and instead sync the data on the console youre currently using. You may lose unsynchronized data from the other console.
Select Keep waiting and resolve the sync problem with the other console. This usually means signing in to your profile on that console and letting it complete the upload.
Error: We couldnt sync your info with the cloud.
This error occurs when your Xbox One console cant maintain a good connection to Xbox Live. If you can, select the Play offline option to use the data on your consoles hard drive instead.
To test your network connection:
1. Press the Menu button on the Xbox One controller.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Network.
4. On the right side of the Network Settings screen, select Test network connection. The test will run automatically and let you know if there is a problem with your connection.
If you get an error during the test, try the Network connection solution.
