The PlayStation4 has a power indicator light on the top of the system. Depending on what is occurring, it will light up different colors. These lights will vary based on the situation, just consult this chart to see what exactly is happening.

Lights up power indicator blue then power indicator white - Powering on
Lights up PS4 power indicator white - Powered on
Lights up PS4 power indicator orange - Standby mode
Turned off - Powered off
Blinks PS4 power indicator red - The PS4 is overheating.


You should turn off the system, move it to a well-ventilated area, and wait until it has cooled down to use it
