The Star Callers Staff is a magical item created using a Yellow Gem. When activated, it summons a small ball of light where the cursor is, which provides Warmth, Light, Sanity, and a place to Cook.

The star, once activated, will provide a significant radius of light for 120 seconds after which it extinguishes without warning. During this cycle, the star provides heat (180 units) equivalent to that of a second-to-highest tier campfire (the highest tier fire puts out 220 units of heat). Despite this, it can turn into a good alternative to campfires later in the game for those who don't want to carry wood and grass around anymore.

Sanity is regained by 25 per minute when standing near the star, which results in a total of 30 sanity regained as it drains 20 sanity to summon the star. This is the same sanity aura provided by befriended pigs. However, it is much easier to get a consistent boost as the star doesn't move away when the player goes near it.

Food can be cooked over the star, as a Campfire or Fire Pit would. Similar to how a Campfire can burn nearby flammable objects, the star can also burn flammable objects should it be summoned too close to the object, so caution is advised as to where the player summons the star.

The staff will not work on spots where the cursor is unavailable, such as the Ocean or in the dark.
