The Thulecite Club is a weapon craftable from Thulecite. When you hit an enemy with the club, a "Shadow Tentacle" will sometimes (20% chance) spawn from the ground and attack enemies in reach for a short period. When this occurs a ghostly sound is played. The Thulecite Club also increases the character's movement speed by 10% while equipped.
While the Dark Sword does more direct damage than the Thulecite Club, the total damage from the Club and the Shadow Tentacles will usually be higher. Since the Tentacles are chance based procs though, there is also a chance for the Club to do lower damage per second. Additionally, the Thulecite Club will last longer than a Dark Sword (150 uses versus 100, although it's more expensive) and the tentacles drain more sanity than the sword.

Living Logs are items that are dropped by deceased Treeguards and chopped Totally Normal Trees. They are used to craft several magic items, including a Shadow Manipulator, and can also be used as fuel for a fire. Living Logs will scream when burned on a fire and when eaten by the were-beaver form of Woodie, though this has no effect on gameplay.
It is very similar to an Aztec weapon called macuahuitl, as many of the Ruins items seem based on Aztec or Olmec art.
