Closed captions let you read the words that are spoken in the audio portion of a video or television program and often include other descriptors that identify speakers and background noises. When closed captioning is turned on, captions are usually displayed at the bottom of your TV screen, monitor, or other video-display device. Closed captions are usually used by people who have hearing disabilities, and also by viewers who would rather read than listen to the audio portion of a video.


What turning on closed captions on your Xbox One does

Note If you enable closed captions on your Xbox One, you'll see the captions on all closed caption-enabled video content that you play on your console.

To turn on closed captions on your console, go to Settings and select Closed Captioning.

To personalize closed captions, select Use custom style and follow the steps to customize the closed captions for the following:
