Photoshop - Colour Splash Effect
The colour Splash Effect is a very effective effect and is used by many photographers for many different occasions. The main pictures you will see with this effect would be Wedding days. They are very popular in this area of photography.
1) First of all make a new composition with your image in it or just simply drag the image into Photoshop.
2) Next right click on the layer and rasterize it to unlock the image or simply just unlock it. With Photoshop CC you can just click on the little lock icon.
3) Next duplicate the image which you just imported into Photoshop. Do this by Right clicking and hitting duplicate layer, or just hit CTRL+J. Command+J on Mac.
4) Now with the duplicated layer go up to Image, Adjustments and hit Hue and Saturation. Or just hit CTRL+U or Command+U on Mac.
5) A new box should pop up giving you different colour options. Just drag the Saturation bar to '-100'. Then just hit ok.
6) Now we need to create a layer mask. So got to Layer, Layer Mask and Reveal all. This will give you a small White box next to your layer
7) With the layer mask selected use the pentool to go around the part of which the effect will be shown. For me it will be the main guys tie.
8) Now make sure your colours are set to Black and white with Black being your foreground colour. Right Click and hit make selection
9) Just hit ok on the Make selection box
10) Now select your fill tool and just click inside the selection you created. This should make the colour come back.
9) Now you should be good to go.If you decide to use this effect in a photo please send me them I would love to see how you have made this effect look good
