Sony's PlayStation 3 game console allows users to store game saves and full digital game copies -- as well as video, music and picture files -- on the system's hard drive. If you wish to view what is stored on PS3's hard drive, you can do so in a few simple steps by browsing through each section of the PlayStation 3's XrossMediaBar.
Step 1
Turn on the PS3 system. Scroll over to the "Settings" section of the XrossMediaBar, scroll down to the "System Settings" option and press the "X" button. Scroll down to the "System Information" option and press the "X" button. On the System Information page, the amount of free space on your hard drive will be displayed next to the "Free Space" heading. Press the "Circle" button twice to return to the main menu.
Step 2
Scroll over to the "Photo" section of the XMB. Scroll down to the "Photo Gallery" option and press the "X" button. Within the Photo Gallery, you will be able to view all of the photos saved to the PS3's hard drive. When you are finished, press the "Circle" button to return to the main menu.
Step 3
Scroll over to the "Music" section of the XMB. Scroll down to view all of the songs saved on the PS3 hard drive. Depending on how you have the songs organized on the system, the songs may be grouped by album, artist, genre, track name or release date.
Step 4
Scroll over to the "Video" section of the XMB. Scroll down to view all of the videos saved on the PS3 hard drive. Depending on how you have the videos organized on the system, the videos may be grouped by title, month or album name.
Step 5
Scroll over the "Game" section of the XMB. Scroll down to view the game demos and digital game copies saved onto the PS3 hard drive. Depending on how you have the games organized, they may be grouped by format or album.
Step 6
Scroll up to the "Save Data Utility (PS3)" option in the "Game" section of the XMB and press the "X" button. Inside, you can view all of the PS3 game saves stored on the PS3 hard drive. When you are finished, press the "Circle" button to return to the main menu.
Step 7
Scroll up to the "Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2)" option in the "Game" section of the XMB and press the "X" button. Inside, you can view all of the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 game saves stored on the PS3 hard drive. Press the "Circle" button to return to the main menu once you are finished.
Step 8
