If youre a lone wolf, you can get the most out of The Division with these tips for a solo build.
The Division can be hard work when youre an agent trekking through New York on your own. The Dark Zone is even more gruelling, filled with tough enemies and crazed players that cant get enough of going rogue. But thankfully, Alex is here to impart his wisdom on the best ways to optimise your build for solo play.
The most obvious place to start is getting your Stamina attribute up as high as you can. Be the bullet sponge. Youll need to combine this with a high stat in one of the other two attributes. Which one all depends on your play style. It should go without saying that youll want to equip some high armour gear or you wont feel the benefit of high HP.
If youre the king of cover-based shooters, go for Firearms. Youll mete out significantly more damage, and while your Skill Power will suffer, if youre that good, its likely you wont even notice.
If youre finding it all a bit overwhelming, spec toward Electronics to boost your Skill Power instead. This does mean youll be chipping away at enemies for longer before they go down, but your skills will be a lot more effective, and the cooldown will be a lot quicker.
When it comes to skills, the Support Station is a must for lone agents. Med packs are great quick fixes, but theyre limited, and if you go down, theyre of no help at all. Sticking the Life Support mod onto it is advisable, as itll automatically revive you should you go down.
Focus on crowd control for your second skill. Sticky bombs modded with a flashbang, seeker mine with the airburst mod, and the turret with the zapper mod, are all good choices.
When it comes to your signature skill, Survivor Link is a no-brainer, increasing your damage resistance and movement speed, as well as granting immunity to status effects.
Moving on to Talents, youll definitely need Critical Save. Its a life-saving talent, but you will need to only use medkits as a last resort. Adrenaline and Strike Back are the next two fixed options. The last one is based on your preference between Fear Tactics, and One is None.
