Complete the tutorial level with GAL.00.
This will be the first playable part of the game and you cannot skip it. There will be floating green signs with an exclamation mark that tell you what to do or give hints. Follow these and progress through the level. At the end will be a boss, but he's very simple to kill. Spam X and make sure to use B when you can to use your power shot.
