1. Connect the USB cable from your iPod Touch to your desktop or laptop computer. Cancel any automatic syncing that takes place when your computer detects the device.
2. Launch the iTunes application. If you have not done so, update to the latest iTunes version.
3. Select your iPod device on the left toolbar of the iTunes window. Click on the "Options" tab. Scroll down to and select the "Enable disk mode" option to put your iPod touch into disk mode.
4. Modify your files through your iPod touch. In disk mode, you can delete files to make room for new music, copy and paste songs onto your iPod or computer, modify song descriptions and more.
