1. Touch "Settings" on the home screen and click "Wi-Fi." Swipe your finger against the onscreen Wi-Fi switch to the left to turn off the feature. The Wi-Fi tool constantly searches for available networks, which can easily drain the battery if the phone frequently detects new nearby networks.

2. Tap "Notifications" in the Settings menu and tap "ON" located on the Notifications tab to disable the phone's notifications feature. Applications that use the notifications feature send an alert to your phone whenever a message or event occurs with in the application.

3. Touch "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" in the Settings menu and click "Fetch New Data. Tap the Push's switch to disable the push mail feature. Pushed mail and other data drains the battery, as the phone frequently sends and receives data from the server.

4. Hold down "Power" and "Home" on the iPhone until the device restarts to the home screen. A background application may be hogging your iPhone's resources, which uses up data and battery life. A hard reset clears the application from the background.



5. Insert the USB cable into the bottom of the iPhone, and insert the other end of the cable into the USB port on the computer.

6. iTunes, and click the iPhone's name in the left side window of iTunes.

7. Click "Restore" and click "Don't Back up." Click "Restore" in the pop-up window once more to begin the device restoration.
