Download an app that supports PDF files. Popular examples include: Kdan's Mobile PDF Reader; MyPDFs; Mobile PDF Viewer; and GoodReader. To find these apps, tap the "App Store" icon on your Home screen, click the "Search" tab and enter the letters "PDF" into the "Search" field, revealing these applications and more.

Open the "Safari" app, usually appearing along the bottom row of your Home screen, and locate a PDF file online. Search for your file by clicking the "Google" box in the upper-right corner of your screen and entering the name of the file. Or you can navigate directly to the website where it appears by entering the address into the "URL" box, directly to the left of the "Google" box. If you already know the exact address of your PDF file, skip to step 4.

Click the PDF file to view it in the Safari browser. As it loads, click the "URL" box at the top of the screen and copy the web address. Tap the address once, then tap the "Select All" button and finally the "Copy" button, all of which will appear directly above the web address. When you successfully copy the address, you can exit Safari.

Open your PDF viewer app by tapping the corresponding icon on your screen. When the page loads, locate the option that reads "Download PDF," "Enter URL" or "Add PDF." Depending on your application, you may first need to navigate to a "Download" or page to see this option.

Tap the URL box twice to reveal a "Paste" button. Tap "Paste" to transfer the address of your PDF, and click the "OK" or "Download" button to send the PDF file to your phone. Access the "Saved Files" feature on your app to view your PDF.
