This is a simple tutorial on how to give text a shadow, making it seem as if it is off of the picture. For this tutorial, I used Photoshop CS6.
- - Make a new file with a plain white background
- Use the text tool (shortcut key T) to make any generic text [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
- Double click in the area to the right of the Text layer [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
- Click the Drop Shadow option. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Your text will now have a shadow, you do not have to mess with any of the settings. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
To change the settings so they are more to your liking, click the word Drop Shadow instead of the checkbox. A dialog will open to the right and you can play with the features to see what each of them do, and make your shadow look better to you.
