This is a very easy way on how to get more Elixir.

What you need to do is upgrade any troop, and then when it hits the last minute, in the barracks train as many of the troops your upgrading as you can. Basically when the upgrading stage is in the last minute or so, go train those troops in the barracks. So while you're training those troops the laboratory will finish up and you will still be training the old troops instead of the newly upgraded ones. What you want to do is sell them as soon as the laboratory is finished, so you get more Elixir back than you should of had before.

I've been doing this for a while now, it's great. It's also nice to do with Dark Elixir. Anyway, nice tutorial Centurial.
