Cavorting with the Brotherhood of Steel In Hidden Valley, I found several entrances to an underground bunker system. I venture deeper, only to face the Brotherhood of Steel (finally!). They aren't as nice as I had hoped. They strip me down to my underpanties, and just when I think they're going to gang rape me, I get lectured by Elder McNamara instead. He orders me to drive off an NCR Ranger close by, then slaps an explosive collar on me. Asshole. I have no choice but to help him now. This begins the very large quest called "Still in the Dark."
