There are 5 playable characters in the game: Alex, Brad, Conrad, Fliss, Julia. For the worst ending, all of them must die. The non-playable characters Olson and Danny will always die no matter what you do. The Prologue characters die automatically too. Junior can theoretically be saved but is never in the final cutscene.
