If the dog is young, go for the operation.

Otherwise, I would just try to get it some kind of treatment to ease the pain for him/her.

same exact thing that happened to me.. i was 10 and it was my first dog and i had she was 14. I put my dog down because she didnt look happy. Although i was very sad at the time i look back and am happy because of all the pain she didnt have to suffer.

Sorry but, put it down bro. If it's your first dog you shouldn't make her suffer all of that pain. But if you love your dog to much then put her through the surgery.

Sorry; but tbh true the operation may put her through pain; but she'll be better at the end of it.
My dog died because its heart failed.
Im sorry and i know how you feel; but a dog is your best-friend and it will be so hard to get over it.

If i was in your position; id chose the operation; purely because the 2nd option is basically watch the dog suffer and then kill it anwyay :/

Definitely have your dog put down. My dog's hips went, couldn't move, had it put down.

Sorry for your loss
