Can you tell me what android version you are running? that would help alot. But as a general can you root that phone the answer is yes you can. But it would help if i knew if you were running android 2.2 or 2.3. You dont want 2.3 so dont update

Im not exactly sure what your asking. I think what it is you want to know is if you root can you get those updates and still be root? And if so, yes. You can root and there are plenty of gingerbread roms you can put on your phone. Im not so sure about touchwiz though since it is a samsung thing specifically. But you can definately get a gingerbread rom for the infuse. Also you can unbrick the infuse so even if it goes wrong and your phone becomes bricked you can get it back to stock again.

Do i have one what, im not offering anything but help and advice. I don't know what you want, so you should restate your question so i can understand it. Possibly "Can i root the droid 3?" is what your after. And "for" isn't spelled "fore"

Yes there is, Would you like me to tell you how? Cause you will need to download some android dev software and some files but then its purely 5 lines of commands and your rooted and ready to flash a new ROM
