If it's not a big deal for you, I wouldn't do it. You would have to open the 360 and the drive.
Does the tray wiggle a lil side to side when it's open? If so you may be able to wiggle it to a sweet spot...lol
It does wiggle, but I can't seem to hit your so called sweet spot . Oh well, just thought I'd see if it was an easy fix. Thanks for your time.

i recently got the RROD on my 360 and dont have warranty so imma try to fix it myself....what has a better success rate the penny trick or x clamp fix

Penny trick should never be attempted, ever! XClamp replacement is a bandaid. Please get the secondary error code from the console and I would be able to more specifically tell you how to go about fixing it... "RRoD" covers about 100+ completely different errors, so that isn't that helpful.

To be completely honest (and I'm not being mean) If you don't know what that HANA chip is or the term "reflow" you may do better to send it to be fixed. Personally I fix E74 for $20.
