Personally i think the United States Education system is soooo royally **** up. All your life since you are around the age of 5 years old you are told and taught that you can do/be anything you set out to be, But in reality the same people telling you that are the ones holding you back. For some of you who don't know how the Education system works over here in the US i will try to briefly explain. First you go through your basic grades from K-2 learning your alphabets, colors ect. then you go into Elementary learning your English, Science, Math, History and the proceed onto Middle school learning more English, Science, Math History and then Once you get to High School you learn the same exact shit. Now once you are in High School you have 4 Quarters you are graded on your class through out the year. Now you have to Pass majority of the Quarters to pass the Class its self and then you must take a final test and pass that. If you fail the class majority of the 4 Quarters but pass the test then you must re-take the class and vice versa.
Now back to my point, Like explained above we are taught we can do/be anything we want to be.. But yet all my life in school has been repetitive learning of bull shit instead of what i want. We learn the same crap like the American Revolution, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Inca and Myans and Columbus....Even tho general knowledge is good.. it is only to a certain point.. For up too 11 years each year you learn the same shit just at a different level. Now i dropped out of school last year at 11th Grade after i realize school (Up to a certain point) does absolutely nothing for you. I am forced to take an English class in which i have to write poems and gay storys and use "Creativity" and if i do not pass just that one class i do not receive a diploma. All my life i have been told i can do anything, but yet school does not teach me what i wish to know.. School teaches me about shit i already know. Instead of taking a class that helps you understand Circuit boards i take a class teaching me about metamorphic rocks, instead of them letting me take a class on learning Programming languages such as C#, Java i am told to learn Languages like Spanish and German. I take a Construction class planning on learning to understand Architecture and Plumbing and instead i painted half of a shed and hit a couple nails in some wood.
Then even when you graduate high school you are forced to still take mandatory English and Math and Then and ONLY then you can proceed to take class's on stuff you would like to learn.. and by that time you are around the age of 20 working a full time job trying to pay rent and no longer have time to take class's and learn what you want to know. The whole world is caught in the illusion that by having good grades in Science and English means when your older you can be a Lawer.. When in realisty you never needed Science you just needed Buisness class's, Law Class's and English class's... So much time in wasted in High School and its pathetic.. If i was told i could choose every single one of my class's i would take Math Class's and Programming/Technical Class's and Law Class's... And i wouldnt mind going to school even on weekends if that were true.
To tell you the truth Google, eBooks, and the library have been more 'Teachers' to me then my actual ones i had in school.
I personally got 100's and 90's on every Test, Quiz and exam thrown at me in math.. But i would fail the class because i refused to do pointless home work... I struggled in school because i lacked creativity/gayness to write poems and short storys... That is simply not who i am.. i see kids who cant even spell the word "Psycho" or put correct punctuations in place but yet they are being taught to write a poem, i dont know about you guys but if i was an employer i would rather hire someone who spell and write properly then someone who has atrocious writing and can make a poem.
My whole point is that the school system needs to stop force feeding subjects to kids and think that your doing it to help them when in reality it holds them back. School is great and basic all around knowledge is needed by everyone, But there has to be a point where you start learning and becoming who you want to be and not when its to late for you to become it.

Dude, school is for general knowledge, then you go to college and you major in a subject (English, Engineering, Theature, ect.) to learn EVERYTHING about it. Im sorry, but IMO, you dropping out of school was completely dumb. Even though you think it was stupid, you cant put on your resume "I have a highschool diploma". Whos gonna wanna hire a person without a diploma? Besides a fast food restaurant.

i completely agree with this.. most of the work you do in school is only for you to be busy in.. there is no point in doing half the work and all the teachers don't evem teach you sh*t.. they expect you to learn from their repetitive bi*ching and its just so annoying having to listen to them repeat the same thing day after day after day

I think school is important, if kids got to pick what they wanted, the USA would be full of lazy dipshits that take 7 periods of PE and 1 period of lunch

Well Really, Here in America if you want to be something and you try to Achieve that Goal, you eventually will get that Goal you want to have.
You probably won't get it if your just shooting for the moon and say : "I want to become the President of the United States" or "I want to become the CEO of Microsoft" but if it's something not really that high in standards you will get what you desire.
Currently, I believe we should have more School Days even though School gets annoying, At Least 200 Days instead of 180 would be nice to ensure that the people that actaully "Need" their Education, Actually get it.
Plus, more school days would also be better for Society. <-- I was completely going off topic there but that's pretty much it.

All throughout Highschool what ur learning is General Knowledge.
Once u get to College u specialize in something.
Those years u spend studying hard is pretty much just to help u decide what u want to specialize in.
