In-Ear: Brainwavz M2
Over-Ear: JVC HA RX700
On-Ear: Koss Portapro (the anniversary edition is pretty slick if you don't like the regular one)

Good headphones at that price range don't sacrifice quality for looks. Then again, looks are completely subjective. The M2 is just great looking, and the Portapros will get lots of attention. If people think they're ugly, let them have a listen. Odds are, they'll want a pair.

sandcrab wrote Your budget: 55-80 bucks (US DOLLARS)

Which genres you'll be listening to: Rap, Hip-hop, and many types of rock

What kind you want: Doesn't matter.

Whether you want open or closed headphones: Either is fine.

What you are listening from: ipod and/or laptop(the laptop can change the EQ of the audio, increase the max-bass, increase the max-treble, increase the max-stereo, and max-dialog)

IEMs: Brainwavz M2 (neutral), Head-Direct RE0 (neutral), Hippo VB (bassy)

On-Ear: Koss Portapro, Koss KSC35, Koss KSC75

Over-Ear: Sony XB500 or XB700, Grado SR80i or SR60i

Get the XB500 or XB700 if you want an extremely bassy signature. Get the Grados if rock is primarily what you'll be listening to. They're absolutely legendary for rock music, and I can attest to this.

Meelectronics M6 hands down. You'd get better quality from Koss Portapros, though. They're very bassy and probably the best headphones you can buy before you reach the $100 mark.
