i recently turned my laptop on and the screen doesn't seem to be working properly i can see a rough outline of whats on the screen but it is very dark i don't know whats wrong with it could someone plz tell me how to fix it anything would be good.

You mean the brightness is just very low? Or is almost the entire screen completely black?

the entire screen is basically black i only see whats on the screen the tiniest bit almost completely black

Ok Bud i Think you have what they call "Blue Screen" and basically its when your computer is totaly broken But try this get a vga cable or a s-video cable and hook it up to a tv or seperate pc screen (not a laptop) PM me if this helped or if you need any other help

i already did this and also i put the screen into a diffrent laptop it worked fine so its summin to do with the laptop any ideas

Well you laptop screen is probably gone and is it a new pc because it probably wont be worth buying a new screen for if its an old 1 ?

Sorry, but seriously? You think his black screen problem is called a blue screen? Think about that for a second. Black does not = blue. I'm not trying to be rude but please don't try answering peoples problems if you don't know what you're talking about.

As for the OP, what model of laptop do you have? There are some laptops that commonly have this problem and they can sometimes be fixed. Other times, it's broken and unless you have a warranty, you're out of luck :/

its a dell inspirion and the screen is fine it is the laptop that is not picking the screen up properly making it very dark.

if your able to acess your pc you should try re ajusting your resolution settings ?

tried doesnt work or make it better at all
