I'm Atheist... my mom this year said if you don't believe in god we aren't celebrating Christmas. So this year we aren't celebrating. /:

Im athiest.

Just because i am athiest doesnt mean i cant celebrate christmas. I spend it with my family and give my loved ones gifts. Just becasue i dont follow a religion or beilieve in a upper power doesnt mean i cant spend time with my family. My whole family is a mix of catholic/methodist. I dont laugh at them when they pray or say amen. I sit there in silence and repsect their beliefs.

I know there ins't really a reason for them to celebrate it.

It actually isn't all about God but it is all about Jesus being born.

Very good point, but i celebrate it because i like the family time and food, and gifts and stuff. The pilgrims are basically dead, but we read about them in books, just like god or jesus, yet we still celebrate thanksgiving and Christmas. Does that mean that people who havent seen a pilgrim walking down their street shouldn't celebrate thanks giving?

I have friends that are athiest, and I am Christian. I don't go to them and tell them they're stupid for wanting to have Christmas break to spend with their family, friends, and also recieve free (well you seem like a small child, so) toys.
