I just got a new iPod touch 4g and I was woundering if jailbreaking it would make it slower? If so, by how much?

I have a jailbroke ipod and dont see a difference in speed.

No sir it does not. This is just a software modification. However I did notice some sources or apps do make it slower after time(Like 6 months later) Just make sure your safe and know what you are doing. If all you are using your jailbreak is free apps, then your good and will probably not encounter any problems

it might be a tad bit slower.. but you might not see a difference.. i think its because your ipod has to run more things at once.. they also say it shortens your battery life, but i thought it increased mine.

Jailbreaking in itself cannot decrease battery life or increase memory usage. Installing certain software from cydia can potentially be active frequently which can decrease your battery life, and because it is constantly active, takes up memory space. So depending on what you install, the answer to that question is yes and no.

Ive found mine isnt necessarily slower but it crashes alot
