Stupac wrote I've read the 2 560 ti's in sli is slightly faster than a 580. But I would say just go for the single 580, its still a massive upgrade over the single 560 ti and there will be alot less hassle with having to switch the motherboard (which usualy requires a fresh windows instalation)

If you decide to run Dual SLI? You should get an SLI Bridge as it significantly increases performance in DirectX games ( doesn't matter for OpenGL )

Also, installing a new motherboard will need a new windows installation because it won't find your boot drive anymore

You can just change the boot drive in the bios can't you?

There are ways to keep your current installation. This will require you to boot up the motherboard with no PCI slots filled, then one filled, then two etc and let it re-detect every single part seperately.

If you don't do this, there's a slim chance it will work but an even bigger chance it will mess up the IRQs and for instance try to use your Hard drive as a graphics card xD
