Read the OP before you post, please.

I think you should make it a policy of yours to ignore these type of posts. They're obviously just trying to troll your thread.

Oo what's with that massive drop in volume between 5000-10000Hz for the HD25-1's? A bit overcompensated, don't you think?

I think that's the sibilance range. I don't know why so drastic though.

Getting something because everyone else has them is a terrible way of going about things.

You could probably get an Ultrasone PRO900 and an amp to go along with them and make Beats owners fully regret their purchase.

If you can't get a Sennheiser HD25, a Creative Aurvana Live would be good. A Grado SR60i would be perfect for you if it weren't for the closed requirement. They leak a lot of sound.

Another Ultrasone recommendation! As Ishcabible said, the Pro 900 is within your price range, however it does need to be amped to reach its full potential. If you don't want to deal with an amp, the Pro 750, HFI-780, and HFI-580 are other options. All of these will destroy Beats. If your friends call you out for not getting Beats, you might want some new friends. If not, let them have a listen and tell them how much you paid. If you do this, you might see a few new Ultrasone owners popping up! You could always see what they're looking for and post here, too.

The Aurvana Live might not be the best to carry around like that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure they're the best for manhandling. If you want something very portable, look at the AKG K181DJ or even the Shure SRH550DJ.

For production, the Sony MDR-V6 is just about perfect. Extremely durable, neutral sound signature, and a lot of bang for your buck. If you can spend a bit more, check out the Brainwavz HM5 (Fischer Audio FA-003 rebrand). Right now it's available for pre-order for ~$120, and you'd have a hard time finding much better for the price. I'd get them now since the pre-order price is lower than the release price, to my knowledge.

I'd get the Ultrasone HFI-580 or HFI-780 for what your preferences are. To my knowledge, they're the best bassy headphones out there for the price. You'll absolutely love them with your music!
