Story

If you were to jump right into the game EA Sport's MMA, you would head for the story mode. The hype for this mode before release was unreal. It advertised many different modes and options you could choose from within the campaign of this UFC/Strikeforce based game. From different camps to join, to leveling up your created fighter to take on the big dogs of the MMA world, this game has it all. You start off the story mode with a created character. Now let me say, this is one of the most creative and wild variety of options to choose from I have ever seen in a game that allows you to create your own character. From skin tone, to tattoos, to stylizing your fighter with an incredible, rainbow mo hawk. There is a crazy amount of options in each of these individual tasks you can use to create your own, personal character. 100's of options await you in this wonderful Create a Fighter mode. After you go through that process, you start in your training camps, leveling up your fighter. There are tons of attributes to fit your character such as: Right Handed Power, Left Handed Power, Ground Game Offense, Ground Game Defense, Clinch game, etc. There are really great amount of options to keep you coming back to career mode trying to max out your character. Afterwards, you begin training. You can train for as long as you want until the next event on your list comes up. You keep playing this events, with bumps down the big league road to success. You start off in the rookie league, and after a while you will rank up as far to try to shoot for the Strikeforce Championship. Do you have what it takes?

Exhibition Mode

Have you ever wanted to just have a 1 on 1 battle with one of the CPU, or to test out your skill against one of your buddies offline? EA Sports MMA has this and more to bring to the table. There are 5 different weight divisions you may choose from. Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight, and Lightweight. In each of these weight divisions, there are a variety of professional fighters you may choose from. From Randy Couture, to Fedor Emelianenko, MMA offers a lot. There are roughly 15-20 or so fighters in each division. Keep in mind this is mainly a Strikeforce based game, so there are more fighters from there then UFC. After you have chosen the fighters, you even have the choice to choose your arena and rules of the match. The rules differ from traditional Strikeforce rules, which means no knees or kicks to the head of a downed opponent, to Japanese styled rules to where they are both allowed, plus more such as elbows. Then we move on to the gameplay/controls of the game.

Controls

The controls in this game are what you would expect from a traditional style fighting/mixed martial arts game. X, or Square, is to punch with one hand, Y, or Triangle, is to punch with the other. There are also kicks that differ as well. With these combinations, you can keep the heat coming with a skilled variety of combo attacks coming from powerful straight jabs leading up to a headkick, to wide expansion of them for each character. That's right, not every character has the same attacks. One fighter, Cung Li for example, has a special flying kick that I believe, no other character shares. Features like this make the game compelling and different each time you step inside the octagon.

Online Mode

Like every other EA game, MMA comes with an online code you must enter before playing the game online. If you can get past this small feat, you can delve into the heavily expanded world of MMA online. There are many different modes you may choose from in this game. From the traditional 1 on 1, to a special "live" event type of mode that allows you to watch the top contenders for a championship online duke it out with live commentary from real EA Sports commentators. While these programs are indeed live, if you happen to miss one you may re-watch it again even with the commentary from the Multiplayer screen. You can even fight for the championship in each weight division online. The more you play in 1 division, the more you "rank" up in it in your efforts to become the number one contender to face the current reigning champion. If you do manage to take that privileged spot, you may defend your title online against other contenders that have went through what you have to get where you are now. Compelling and different really describe the online mode of this game. Any more, you don't really see this much in depth effort that was clearly put into this game.

The Final Verdict

EA Sports MMA is an action packed game for every fan of MMA, or any sports game in general. I wasn't much of a fighting game fan (MMA) until I picked this game up. It completely changed how I look at this sport, and other games that follow the path, but don't quite reach the peak that is this game. Although it may fall flat under the current UFC games that are coming out, this game is sure to please. The only real con I have about this game, other than the occasional matchmaking/online lag (Which is expected from EA servers), is the somewhat steep learning curve to this game. While this isn't the most difficult game to learn in existence, it sure takes some dedication and time to do consistently well in EA MMA. This isn't one of those games where you can just pick up and do amazing, because of the different character combos and what not, but it definitely isn't the hardest I've seen in a while either. If your a fan of any MMA game, or any fighting game in general, this game is a must buy. For the casual gamer though, its deep learning curve may stir you away, but I would give it a shot, because you never know who's going to be holding the next Strikeforce Championship.

The Final Rating

8.5/10
On your Controls, give us a brief description of it, and don't show just images of them.

Thanks for the feedback man. I just updated my post. What do you think of it now?
It looks nice, just one more thing about the Controls, you should remove the pictures.

Other than that, I think your Review looks great.

Oh yeah. I misread what you said the first time when you said I should remove them. My bad. They are removed now. I appreciate the criticism and the fact that you like it. Hopefully it will get published at some point.

[Prototype]

Probably one of the best games i have ever played rating so far 9/10 or 4/5 stars

[Prototype]
The graphics are probably one of the best i have seen in hd i have ever played on if there was a updated version of this game it would be worth the buy
Starting of as the full 'Prototype' tackling enemies and knowing the full pertential the 'Prototype' can get up to and wants you to keep playing, Its a high action game being able to do numerous things in this game such as
1.Morphing into other people
2.Super srength
3.Arms=Blades
4.Etc
the game puts you through alot of tasks trying to take out a army/sas type army or you can just chill roaming round the city.
Morphing in the game can get you out of tough situations such as not being able to be noticed (morphing into a worker)
The graphics are good but the only thing in my opinion that lets it down is eing 3rd perosn if it was 1st perosn it would be a brilliant game and many more would buy.
Probably one of the most underated games and many shoud consider buying
9/10
graphics 9/10

I have done a touch up on my incredibles review as the synopsis was too long and added a picture of the graphics, and the rayman one as the pictures were deleted and added a picture of the graphics that is valid.

Twisted Metal for the playstation was one of my first console game purchases and the series remained my favorite throughout all it's releases.

As others have said the biggest complaint is the removal of the individual character's story lines. That was the reason you kept playing TM was to see the twisted endings for each person! Now you have 3 story characters to choose from and an extra 4th that has no story. Even though there's only 3 to see I'm still enjoying how they play out, very reminiscing of the other games.

Not only were the individual storylines removed but the car selection seems limited. When you start comparing there seems to be two "types" of each car with just a slight difference. One car is really fast with hardly any armor and a very powerful special and then there's another car just like it but with a little more armor and a slightly less special power. The differences will probably only matter in serious multiplayer but the average player won't notice the difference.

With those negatives out of the way all I can say is FINALLY, the glorious chaotic car combat king Twisted Metal is back! Honestly even though I'm upset about the individual stories I believe Twisted Metal was worth the wait. The gameplay is satisfying and challenging even on normal. While older twisted metal games would just increase the amount of opponents to kill with each level, this new TM introduces new challenges in order to stay alive while destroying your opponents for each level. What little story there is has some character secrets that older TM players will catch and find interesting.

For those of you that have played the other TM's I made I video on how the game starts up and the Sweet Tooth Intro.

Sadly this video was supposed to be a commentary, but my mic recently broke. I just uploaded the video for everyone to see. Read the description for more info.

Hope you enjoy the video it took me awhile to render and upload.

Since there is no main storyline in this game I will state the major changes from UFC Undisputed 2010
New THQ servers for online play
Pride Mode, with Pride rules, ring, and fighters. Commentary will be provided by Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros. Lenne Hardt will announce the fighters in Pride.
A brand new submission system.
Mo-capping used for fighters giving more realistic movement and striking.(This doesn't apply for all fighters. Some will still use archetypes.)
New Stats: Footwork, Ground Grapple Top and Bottom for offense and defense.
Fighter entrances.
Two game play control options: traditional and simplified. (Pro and Amateur controls)
Leg Kick TKO's, including leg breaks from checked kicks.
New submission moves including the standing rear naked choke, standing guillotine, and the flying scissor heel hook.
New KO animations.
Damage recovery between rounds.
Cuts affect stamina and energy recovery rate.
Redesigned striking game emphasizing jabs, quick strikes, and combinations.
New Stamina system. Your stamina can only come back up so far until you are fully rested.
Stamina depletion will also affect fighter's stats.
New clinch controls. You can close the distance to keep from getting kneed to the head & punching your way out. (This also helps in other areas)
New transition in the clinch to back control.
Whip knees can be done to the body & can be blocked.
Stat decay removed in Career Mode.
Roster fighters from the UFC and Pride can now be taken through career mode.
Auto-Block removed.
New ground positions with the cage.
Using the cage to set-up submissions & "wall walking" back to a standing position.
New options, such as Stamina Simulation mode, Competition Spec mode (Removes all random elements such as flash KOs and doctor stoppages), and Stat Equalizer (Equalizes all stats to 80 for both fighters).
Reach is now a big part in striking.
Fighters are now able to sway on the ground to avoid strikes.
A new feint system.
Take down-intercepting knees have been added.
"Finish the Fight" allows you to continue striking until the ref pulls you off.
Sweeps are back including new ones.
Elbow spamming has been fixed. Only certain fighters have elbows in clinch range.
Ref resetting has been fixed. You can only pull someone off the cage by a take down/slam.
No more sub-cancelling.
Pride Grand Prix have been included, with the ability to have fights in the same night with damage moving onto the next fight.
Return of Madison Square Garden. This venue was available in UFC Undisputed 2009, but missing in UFC Undisputed 2010. Other venues available are MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The O2, Bell Center, Pearl at the Palms, and the Red Rock Resort & Casino, who has a broadcast by UFC Fight Night.
