You can get 8gb of RAM for about $40 on Newegg. You still haven't told us what your processor is and how much ram your computer can take though.

well you computer can prob only take 1GB to 2Gb at most. is it DDR or DDR2 ram.

If you were to do that you'd end up upgrading pretty much everything. RAM, CPU, HDD, PSU, GPU. When you get a graphics card you'll need a higher wattage power supply. Usually when you upgrade to better things they all pull more wattage.
